A Spring Elopement in Glacier National Park
Basically I want to have a Spring elopement in glacier national park now. While Going to the Sun Road isn’t quite open before June, it’s still a magical place and much less crowded. You can typically explore West Glacier around the trail of the cedars, Lake McDonald, and make the trek over to East Glacier using Highway 2. Obviously it depends on what the crazy Montana weather is doing, but there’s still lots to be seen! I for one am down to go with the flow as far as weather goes!
For this styled elopement we teamed up with just a few vendors. As elopements can be as relaxed as you want, we wanted a fun chill vibe. Mums Floral in Whitefish has a la carte options for bouquets, which is a perfect option for an elopement bouquet! Velvet bride in Missoula provided us with a stunning gown with tons of movement and a carefree feeling. Our amazing models Breanna and Dusty also came from Missoula for this shoot and boy howdy aren’t they a stunning couple? We had another photographer and a HMU artist join us, as well as Jade Flanagan Films.
We started under the trees, I’m a sucker for dark wooded areas. They walked along the trails as the vibrant spring colors with the warm terra cotta ground gave us life. When in West Glacier, Lake McDonald is the place to be. Mountain views on every side, colorful rocks, and beautiful blue water. We found a little beach right off the road and had it all to ourselves. Breanna and Dusty danced on the beach, gave us a little PNW vibes on fallen trees, and shared some Missoula made beer. I love spring in the mountains, where it’s warm and drier down low but snowcapped up high.
If you’re not about a hot, possibly smokey, more people around type of elopement day in Montana, a spring elopement in GNP can be insanely beautiful! Might have to plan around some rain, but that’s good luck ya know!
More GNP, please
I can’t wait to be back in GNP area this spring and summer, for more shoots and my first actual elopement in the park!
