They wanted a cabin engagement session, and I’m all about cabins. It was a ways away through from Butte, past Anaconda down through the Pintlers so I hopped in with them. This would be shoot #2 with Adria + Connor, the first being their proposal.
We pulled up a small private drive and parked in front of the cutest cabin ever tucked in the tall trees. Green roof and trim, moose rack above the door, and that mountain pine fresh air. We shot inside for some cozy cabin feels, as well as around the cabin. I’m a little obsessed with cabins, I even have a inspiration Pinterest board for when I get to build one someday.
We headed further up the mountain road. The year before there was a fire in the area that missed the cabin but left some amazing colors. Trees black and charred with new growth on the forest floor. Adria put on the coolest jumpsuit and we trekked down a hillside to shoot. One of my favorite photos from this shoot is them back to back and surrounded by the trees. Kinda different and I love it. I think we all left with a few black marks from climbing over the trees.
Right as the sun set we arrived at the lake nearby their cabin. They put on their swimsuits and then took them off. Wild kids. I don’t recall suggesting the naked part so I’ll give them the credit, but man I love these photos (is that weird lol). Well I mean the photos are amazing but I’m sure these two had to thaw for a couple days. Snow melt off in the evening? Brr. Not only that but they did it AGAIN. Commitment.
We headed back to Butte and swapped lots of stories, dodged a ticket, and I just hoped they didn’t get pneumonia. 🤣 Oh, and their wedding is this Saturday and I’m insanely excited! 😍 This cabin engagement is one of my all time favorite shoots, so if you have a cabin, lets go!
