Oh boy I’m so glad I was able to shoot a stunning Montana mountain proposal before the year ends! When I was nearing 3,000 followers on Instagram, I did a giveaway. Lots of people entered and when it came time to pick a winner, I picked two. One of them I quickly tagged in my stories, and it was TJ. He replied “I think you tagged the wrong account” and sure enough the winners username was just slightly different from his. So I redid the story and told him I’d still be down to shoot with him and his girlfriend. Turns out I’d worked with his girlfriend before at a Beautiful Life Clothing shoot in Anaconda. Anyway, we planned a shoot. A few days after he messaged me saying he had a custom ring being built, he suggested a proposal shoot. Um yes please!
These shoots always make me nervous because I don’t want to screw anything up. I got in their backseat and found the ring TJ hid. They had a couple spots picked out which were stunning and beautiful, and we shot for over an hour. It was freezing cold, but the sun feels warm and they are so cute together, I enjoyed every moment.
As the sun lowered I gave the showtime cue to TJ. We had Michelle walk ahead looking out towards that insane view. As she turns she sees TJ on one knee, and there’s instant happiness. It’s such an honor to be invited into such a special moment. Michele wiped away joyful tears and a smile was permanently on her face. I backed up and let them have their moment. TJ went into the whole story of how it all came about and they shared a drink. Michelle kept glancing down at her stunning ring and I am still over the moon with these photos.
I love a good proposal! This is the third one I’ve been a part of and I would love to do more, especially when it’s a mountain proposal! It’s such a big moment in life and I love capturing all the emotions that go along with it!
