This summer was full of cloudy days, and this moody Chico Hot Springs wedding was one of them. It was chilly and dramatic and the clouds sweeping across the mountains was mimicked by Amalia’s long veil. They drove all the way up for their wedding from California along with their dog, Primo. And their family and friends came from all over, including Sweden.
They had a quiet morning getting ready, and when it was time for the first look it was raining pretty good. We hung out near the main lodge until the rain stopped. The rain didn’t put a damper on anything, Simon and Amalia are one of the most fun couples I’ve got to work with. Always smiling and laughing, being goofy and just enjoying each others company, and it brightened the moody weather. We shot more in the Field of Dreams before the ceremony started, and the blue mountains and suit with the golden grass just makes my heart happy.
After the beautiful ceremony everyone met back down at the lodge for the reception. Everyone…and I mean everyone was out there on the dance floor having the best time and there was not a slow song break anywhere in there, I absolutely loved the energy!
I always love Chico Hot Springs weddings, and they are even more amazing when I get to work with fun loving couples like Simon and Amalia!
