When this adventurous couple came down from Canada to explore, they wanted to document their trip with a summer session in the Grand Tetons and I was all in! We spent the evening running around the park, soaking in the stunning views and discovering new favorite spots. Grand Teton is one of those places that feels magical every single time. The breathtaking sunset over the jagged peaks was just a bonus to the views.
One of the things I love most about shooting in Grand Teton National Park is how easy it is to get a variety of backdrops within a short drive. From mountain vistas to serene lakes and open fields, every corner of the park offers something unique. This diversity creates a gallery that feels dynamic and full of variety, even though everything is captured in the same beautiful location.
A tip for timing your session in the park:
I love starting close to the mountains in the evening. As the sun sets, we gradually move farther away. This creates an amazing effect where the sun appears to rise higher in the sky as we shift perspectives. This gives the illusion of multiple sunsets over the mountains. It’s a simple strategy that adds even more magic to the golden hour photos.

With its stunning landscapes, diverse backdrops, and ever-changing light, it’s a dream setting to capture a couple’s love story.
