I thought I’d mix it up a little here and write a blog post about some of the awesome Billings wedding venues. This list includes the venues I’ve shot at, and the ones that I haven’t. I’m sure I missed a few less well known venues in the area, but I feel like this list includes the best of the best plus some less popular venues.
Camelot Ranch.
This place is quite new and just amazing! Billings really needed another out of the way, beautiful, all in one venue and Camelot Ranch fits the bill. The barn has an upstairs where you and your girls can get ready, room downstairs for the guys. It has a nice set up for restrooms, which is important when you have more than 300 guests, which this venue can accommodate. The kitchen area is perfect for your caterer and there’s a bar inside! One of my favorite things about this space is the fireplace. It’s perfect for behind the alter or your head table! Not only can you have your ceremony indoors for the colder months, but the whole grounds are amazing! You could have your ceremony under the big tree out back, on the dock over the pond, in the trees, or on the lawn. So many options! There’s so many gorgeous places for photos around the property, so I personally love this place!
Billings Depot
Quite a popular place for entire weddings or just receptions. It’s a historical building in downtown Billings. There’s two main spaces, one with vaulted ceilings, columns, and big windows. The other is larger area with high ceilings, gorgeous wood floors and brick walls. If properly decorated it is stunning.
Outside the Depot is two little courtyards so you could set up some outdoor seating as well. Unless you want to travel a little bit, photos in the area will have a downtown vibe. There’s a train yard right out back, the pretty Montana Ave out front, and some alleys and urban scenes surrounding the building.
2905 Montana
Up Montana Avenue just a little bit is 2905 Montana Ave. You would drive right past it and never imagine what is on the inside. It’s not ideal for large weddings, this space can hold up to 123 people total. But for more intimate weddings or after elopement receptions, this would be perfect. Same with the Depot mentioned above, it’s urban, so plan for lots of bricks, alleys, or graffiti walls nearby for photos. When properly decorated inside though it’s such a warm cozy environment.
Moss Mansion
I would LOVE to shoot a wedding here. I’ve always loved this historic place. You could say your vows in one of the gardens or inside! Ahhh it would be a dream! There’s space outside for a tent, and there’s no need to go anywhere for photos, I mean, look at this place! Just imagine an intimate wedding in the conservatory, or a late summer wedding on the lawn. Sigh. These two photos are from the Moss Mansion’s Instagram.
Petroleum Club
Located high on the 35th floor of the Double Tree Hotel, this space is so cool! Incredible views of Billings, a bar, the coolest fireplace area, all in a wrap around layout. It can hold 220 guests, It’s the perfect place for your reception in Billings. Or I could even see a really intimate cozy wedding with your few guests gathered around on the couches while you say I do in front of the fireplace.
Zoo Montana
Because why not? There’s places to get ready, guests can see the animals, and there’s plenty of places for photos. If your guests have lots of kids, this would be such a fun experience with all the animals and a playground! A ceremony in the garden and reception under the pavilion, such a pretty green spot in Billings!
Chanceys
Located 15 minutes from Billings, this venue can accommodate 345 guests and is all inclusive. There’s some on site lodging and spots for getting ready. Out back there’s a big lawn for ceremonies an inside feature high ceilings and feels big and open. As far as I know there’s not a lot of customizing you can do as far as ceremony spots. But it’s a nice spot away from town with enough space for a big guest list.
Other Billings Wedding Venues:
Danwalt Gardens has hosted more small and intimate weddings. I shot a small wedding there years ago!
Golf Courses. There’s a few in Billings that I think does weddings, though I couldn’t find too much info. One I know that is stunning and a pretty good set up for a wedding is the Hilands Golf Club. Last year I shot a wedding there an it was STUNNING. Fits up to 125 inside, and it has a great outdoor area as well.
Private Property. Some of my favorite weddings have been on private property and back yards. You don’t need a fancy venue! For my wedding we rented the chairs, a tent, and used my Grandpa’s ranch on the river. It was personal, fun for everyone to spend time with us on our family’s land, and we had free rein in decor and vendors. So if you or someone you know has a great piece of land, consider looking into that!
I’m sure I missed a few lesser known Billings wedding venues, if I did please let me know in the comments!
