The more Airika told me about her plans and details for her and Gabe’s woodsy wedding in the mountains, the more I looked forward to it. From the smaller amount of guests, the lake backdrop, to the cabin reception, I was hooked, but even more, these are two of the funnest humans I’ve worked with.
THE WEDDING
This wedding was seriously worth the months of me waiting for it to arrive. I started with the girls who were getting ready outside of Philipsburg. First of all, all her details were ready for me in a big storage tub, (excellent tip for brides, use tubs for organizing things!) and so I got right to work. She hand sewed flowers on her long veil, had the most amazing invitation suite, mismatched bridesmaid dresses and her boots to top it off.
After arriving at the cabin, we all put together the tables decorations as the rain decided to hold off. Airika and Gabe hand threw all these little pots for the succulents for EVERY guest. How amazing is that? Best wedding favor ever! After the tables were set up Airika got dressed and we walked down the lane to the first look. Gabe turned to his beautiful bride and basically I melted. These two are so easy to photograph, hence so so many photos.
Everyone gathered around the ceremony site at Moose lake as they said the I do’s. Short, sweet, and certainly many tears and everyone was off to the reception! We stayed behind for some epic canoe shots and more photos around the lake.
This was easily my favorite reception space ever. Long tables out under the trees in the open air, string lights and smoke coming out of the cabin chimney. By the way, instead of cake they had donuts, also I had my very first pasty. Usually I have a favorite part of the wedding day, but honestly I loved every minute and every single detail of this one. Even more, I loved documenting the love between these two and their amazing families.
